From 2005-2009 he was Research Scholar at the United Nations University – Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU- EHS), conducting research on social vulnerability to floods and climate change adaptation. As a consultant he worked for WHO, the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), and the German Committee for Disaster Reduction (DKKV). He has carried out fieldwork and workshops in Armenia, Iran, Japan, Sri Lanka and Switzerland. Alexander Fekete holds a diploma degree in Geography from the University of Würzburg a doctorate (Dr.-Ing.) from the University of Bonn and a Habilitation at University of Würzburg.

Dr. Razzak is the Vice Chair of Research in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Razzak has extensive experience of working in emergency, trauma and disaster research.
Before joining Weill Cornell Medical College, Dr. Razzak served as Director of the Center for Global Emergency Care at Johns Hopkins University as well as Professor of Emergency Medicine.
In addition, Dr. Razzak spent ten years in Pakistan as the Professor and Founding Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine, Director of the World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Emergency Medicine and Trauma in Pakistan. Dr. Razzak led the development of Pakistan’s first advanced life support ambulance service, a Telehealth program and an innovative community health program.
Dr. Razzak is PI on the Fogarty International Collaborative Injury and Trauma Research Training Program (ICTIRT) (D43) and has ongoing NIH funded projects on management of hypertension in the emergency department.
He recently finished a project on developing a tool to measure urban preparedness across three countries (CAMERA tool in cooperation with ICRC).
Dr. Razzak has received numerous awards including Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award by the Global Emergency Medicine Academy and Award for Outstanding Contribution by the American College of Emergency Physicians and has published over 130 peer- reviewed manuscripts.
Dr. Razzak did his MBBS from Aga Khan University, completed his residency in Emergency Medicine from Yale University and Ph.D. in Public Health from Karolinska Institute.

Vatina obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies at the University of the South Pacific (USP). She worked as a DRR Project Officer for ADRA before joining World Vision in 2016 and worked in various positions within the DRR Sector. Vatina has knowledge and skills in disaster management and has recently been appointed as Operations Manager for the organization, overseeing all technical sector specialists. Vatina lives in Honiara, the capital city if Solomon Islands.

Yu Ya Thu is a physically impaired person and women with disability since she was born.
She holds a master’s degree in Botany, Japanese Language and Business Administration (Lincoln University College, Malaysia) and has been participating in disability movement since university student life in 2005. In 2011, “Myanmar Independent Living Initiative (MILI)“ was founded and Yu Ya Thu is working for MILI as Executive Director.
Between June 2014 and June 2017, she was also working for Abilis foundation as Country Representative.
